Editorial policy

This is a brand site. We make the products it describes, which means everything here is written by an interested party and you should read it that way. What follows is the set of rules we hold ourselves to so that being interested does not turn into being untrustworthy.

Facts before phrases

Every specification on this site comes from our own product data: dimensions, decibel ranges, sound counts, digit heights, warranty length. Where a number describes something outside our products, it comes from a named public source, linked, with the date we read it. We do not quote a figure we have not read in its original context.

Sources

• Every source is opened and read before it is cited. The sentence is written to the source, not the source found to fit a sentence already written.
• We cite national health bodies and professional medical organisations for anything touching sleep, light or hearing, and the standards body itself for anything touching certification.
• Each citation carries the date we read it. If we read it again and it has changed, the date changes and so does the sentence.
• Where the evidence for a claim is thin, we say so in the body of the piece rather than in a footnote.

What we will not claim

• No medical claims. Our clocks are consumer electronics, not treatments, and no page here will tell you that one cures, treats or prevents anything.
• No invented history. No founding legend, no workshop we do not own, no factory photograph that is not ours, no team portraits of people who do not exist.
• No certificates we do not hold. We name Qi certification because the pads carry it and because anyone can verify it in the body's own public database: Wireless Power Consortium, Qi: Mobile charging empowered (read 24 August 2026). We do not imply any other mark.
• No statistics without a source. If a number appears on this site it is either ours and verifiable in our product data, or it is cited.
• No fabricated reviews. The reviews on the front page are verbatim from the public customer reviews of the clocks they name, trimmed only at a sentence boundary, including the critical ones.

Corrections

Mistakes get fixed on the page where they appeared, and where a correction changes the meaning of a paragraph we say what changed. Report one to hello@odokee.org.

Who writes this

People who work on these products. There is no outside agency and no by-line, because the whole site speaks for the company rather than for an individual. If you want to know why a particular decision was made, ask, and you will get the actual reason.

Dates

Article publication dates are printed on each guide. The single date for prices and availability lives on how we update and nowhere else, deliberately: a date under every price stops being read within two screens.
